Meeting Dr. Phil Niño Tan-Gatue, Licensed Physician and Acupuncturist

Acupuncture, something that may come into mind and goes with the word 'needle'. But what do we know about it and how does a normal Juan Dela Cruz perceive about it. One of the so many things that came to my mind when I met Dr. Phil Niño Tan-Gatue, a Licensed Physician and Acupuncturist.

As for my instance I only know acupuncture thru the movies of Jet Li wherein for what I remember he's always playing like an eastern medicinal expert and acupuncture aside from the traditional healing herbs is one of the stuff that is being demonstrated.

It was really more of an educational meet up that I had that night because I was able to learn so many things about acupuncture although I know that it was just a small percentage of what should have been discussed I can still say that I'm pretty much sold out of the ways of acupuncture. I've learned that there are types of acupuncture that are practiced like Japanese Acupuncture and Non-Insertion Acupuncture and there were more. Just like what Doc said it is recognized by more and more people both as a main or complementary modality for health care. This ancient Chinese modality, however, is more than just sticking needles into people.

If I am right, people perceive Acupuncture as an alternative way of healing and just like any alternatives, this is not a cure all kind of thing. Some of the ailments that it treats will be the following:

It's worth a try, It is safe but we should also take a look at who's practicing it(better not be a bogus one) the needles may hurt just like a normal needle depending on the tolerance level of the person but through proper diagnosis and application and most specially the participation of the patient to not only the procedure but changing the unhealthy routines then we're on our way to healthier and better living.
